Well hi, hello , Namaste …this is my second blog so please
be patient while reading and any comments please do mention in end .. I mean
puri blog padlo yaar phir comment de dena J !!!.I was just wondering for a topic to start with, as usual started to search
it in internet (aka google mei googlify ;)) along with my evening tea and
biscuits … But I couldn't find a topic which I could find comfortable for my
blog… Suddenly by Gods grace I got my topic for the day that’s none other than
the biscuits I was having.
So here is a short blog about a product which is recognized
by its iconic white and yellow wax paper wrapper with the depiction of a young
girl on the front (to be serious same question arrived n my mind as of yours
now … “yaar is ladki kabi badi hoti kyu nai hai J
“), the product named Parle-G .I am sure every Indian especially children’s can’t
forget this mate who helped them to conquer their hunger many a times. I love the taste of this biscuit no matter how
good are other biscuits it has a unique taste as well it helps to remember my
days of school, where I used to carry a packet of Parle-G for recess time. Some
of the other moments which capture most of us mind when we talk about this
product is days when u got only 10 rupees in hand as our pocket money and you have
loads of mouse running in your stomach ,
most affordable and healthy thing was to have a Parle-G and a cup of tea (in
mumbaiya language “ek parle –g aur ek Cutting”). Other thing which comes to memories is
whenever we used to do betting among friends for silly things the award was
none other than a pack of Parle-G , we used to say “Lagi bet ek Parle ki J “.
Well now I would like to share some interesting facts which I
came to know while writing this blog. It is one of the oldest and the largest
selling brand of biscuits in India as of 2011. It started its business in Vile
parle, Mumbai (Yeh sab ki jankari muje phele se tha J). The brand is estimated to be worth over Rs
2,000 crore (Rs 20 billion), and contributes more than 50 per cent of the
company's turnover (Parle Products is an unlisted company and its executives
are not comfortable disclosing exact numbers). Outside India, Parle-G is
available in Europe, UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, etc. In Canada, it is sold by Zehrs , Food Basics, Loblaws, etc. for only 99
cents for a 418 gram pack. It is also popular across the world and is
starting to sell in Western Europe and USA. The Brand Trust Report, published by
Trust Research Advisory in 2011, ranked Parle in the 58th place as the Most
Trusted brands of India (Yeh sab ki jankari
muje ab se hai J )
So that’s it about
Parle G. If you guys have more information , stories or memories linked to this
blog please comment. Thanks for your
valuable time.
Signing off from this topic now with the same question “Yaar
yeh ladki kab badi hogi J“ .
